Stories in Motion: 3 Sessions Capturing Wellness, Movement & Connection

Photography In Motion

When I’m not out taking photographs, you’ll find me at the gym, so it’s only natural that I love working with people who are passionate about wellbeing, sport, and maintaining a healthy body and mind. Whether through yoga, horse riding, or running, these experiences are visual stories waiting to be told.

This blog post showcases three recent client sessions that embody this aspect of my work, grounded in authenticity and a connection to nature.

1. Training for a Half Marathon

The joy of movement and the drive of motivation were at the heart of this shoot. ‘Captured in Stride’ followed a friend on her regular half-marathon training run along a picturesque canal on a crisp, sunny Yorkshire morning. Yes, we got very lucky with the weather and were blessed with beautiful light, even if the air carried a definite wintry bite.

The goal was to capture more than just athletic form, we wanted to tell a story of resilience, self-discipline, and above all, the sheer joy found in movement and physical activity. The resulting images are perfect for runners, fitness professionals, and anyone embracing an active lifestyle.

2. Yoga

In another nature-based photo shoot, we explored a friend’s yoga practice in an open-air setting. The intention was to capture an inner sense of composure and a graceful flow, qualities that truly shine in natural light, away from the studio.

The mood was peaceful, yet powerful, showing what a healthy body can do when the mind is in the right place. Such sessions are ideal for yoga teachers and wellness professionals seeking branding imagery that reflects not only their practice, but also the energy and presence they bring to their work.

3. Captured with Horses

This session was all about the mutual trust and connection between humans and horses. Having had very few interactions with horses before, it was a completely new experience for me. However, after spending a day in the stables and out in the paddock, I quickly understood why people become deeply passionate about horses and all things equine.

Why I Love Working With Small Businesses

As a small business owner, I particularly enjoy collaborating with solo entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized enterprises. The ‘Captured by Kasia’ project is my second passion undertaking: I actually wear two hats. One is event photography, but the other is swapping lens for mic and working as a conference interpreter. Having set up not one, but two different businesses, I understand the mindset, and the joys and struggles of being a freelancer. I can relate to what it means to start out with an idea and work relentlessly to make it slowly but surely become a reality.

❓Frequently Asked Questions ❓

  1. Do I need to be “good” at posing for these shoots?

Not at all! Just be yourself and do whatever you usually do. Think of it as a conversation, not a performance.

  2. Can I shoot outdoors even if the weather is unpredictable?

Most of the time :) We’ll plan ahead, but some of the most beautiful moments happen in unexpected light or rain!

  3. Can I use these images for my website and socials?

Yes! The images are delivered fully edited and ready to use across your brand platforms.

  4. How long is a typical shoot?

Sessions last a minimum of 1–2 hours depending on the concept, location, and the client requirements.
